South African Vaccine Adverse Events Report System
Transformative Health Justice launched SA VAERS to give the vaccine injured a voice, enhance transparency, assist with compensation claims and strengthen accountability in the form of justice and reparations.
C19 Injections Reporting Data
SA VAERS Data Transparency and Access
See what types of information is reported to SA VAERS. You will find data around adverse reactions, batch numbers and other important information. SA VAERS is transparent but keeps identifying information confidential if you are not comfortable sharing it.
Who Can Report?
You can report your suspicions of a safety concern or incident related to the C19 injection – yourself as a patient, or as a health care worker, family member, friend, neighbour, or employer. Reporting by health care professionals is considered both a professional responsibility and an ethical duty
The Aim of the Reporting System
The purpose of the SA VAERS reporting system is to help provide a warning signal when the safety of the C19 injections may require investigation and to create awareness about what many are experiencing post injection. It is important for people to report problems experienced with the C19-injection products, as these reports are used to identify issues which might not have been previously known about. We analyse reports alongside other safety information and aim to encourage SAHPRA and the Department of Health to take action if trends associated to the safety or efficacy of healthcare products are identified.
